ACT OF KINDNESS
So I got to know about Medium from my Amal Academy Fellowship and since this is my first blog ever, I would love it if mistakes and flaws are spared :)
This ‘Act of Kindness’ is an activity that we intend to act on to learn the second most important tip of successful teamwork, that is, kindness and compassion.
I was really moved by Elizabeth Gilbert’s conversation with a finance manager where she emphasized on how starting small is important before hitting big causes, so I decided that before moving out on streets and working for bigger cause it is better and vital if I start with my home
Act of Kindness# 01
so these beautiful birds visit my backyard every morning and mesmerize us with their amazing voices, I love their music but this was the first time I thought to myself do they sing empty stomach? Who feeds them this early in the morning? and that is when I realized what I needed to do. I got up, went to a nearby market and got these two pots in which I kept water and some food for passing birds to feed on. I feel satisfied!
Act of Kindness#02
Mom’s a working lady, oops!! correction: working around the clock lady and she hardly gets time for herself. Hence, today I decided to iron her clothes for her, I swear she wasn’t expecting this at all.
I feel loved!
Sadqa-e-Jariya! I do this every month, I have compelled myself to take this amount from my earnings but I am glad Amal’s act of kindness reminded me that I haven’t performed my obligations yet.
I feel humbled!
So we have a maid who comes to wash our food mess every day to make her living, she brings her child along in this scorching heat so today I decided to give her an off and handle my mess on my own.
I feel gratitude!
I gave them today to my maid’s child, he took it immediately and later I realized how much he really enjoyed it. He has a sweet tooth I am sure.
I feel emotional!
